Kids Fitness Festival of the Palm Beaches - July 2006
ArtStart set up an art activity table at the Fitness Festival to provide a calm resting spot for over
4,000 summer camp attendees. Jeannette and teen volunteers helped over 2,000 children create
"coffee filter"butterflies to wear in their hair, on their wrists and shoulders.

High school and middle school students can accumulate Community Service hours.

ArtStart Artists Paint Murals on the Windows of Junior Achievement's Exchange City
With the opening of its Exchange City summer camp approaching, Junior Achievement of the Palm
Beaches contacted ArtStart to ask if we could round up some volunteers to paint the windows on
the sunny side of the Exchange City campus.  We were more than happy to help. Thanks to the
talents of Jeannette Parssi and Wellington Landings students Andrea Erickson and Madison
Romesburg, and Paul Michael Calvani, a 6th grader at Watson B. Duncan Middle School in Palm
Beach Gardens, the windows look marvelous (and the kids won’t bake in the sun!).

Celebrity Bartending at Amici - Palm Beach - May 2006
Author Jim Born, sculptor Norm Gitzen, musician Greg "Popeye" Alexander and artist Paula
Gardiner served up mojitos, martinis and waited tables to make this event one of the most
successful Amici has ever hosted. Bill Underwood "barked" people to come take a spin on the
wheel. A great time was had by all.

Children's Services Council - Spring Family Festival - April 2006
ArtStart provided the resources and Jeannette and her daughter Allison helped over 800 children
and a few eager parents create "coffee filter" butterfly's to flutter home with them.

Royal Palm Beach Art Festival - August 2006, 2007
ArtStart set up shop and helped aspiring young artists create
their own masterpieces.  From mini-Matisses to crafty
colorists, everyone enjoyed creating their very own works of art.
As usual, age was not a factor, with parents and grandparents
working alongside artists as young as 14 months.
